A Sixty Year Old Crochet Pattern

I am not a person who does crochet but looking at some of the crochet of today and comparing it with that of sixty years ago it does not seem as though much has changed.
The pattern below is one that could be adjusted from a necklace which was to go round a plain dress to one that could be joined together to make a yoke round a dress or jumper.
I have also known this pattern to be made as a cluster and put on a large pin to dress up a plain black dress.

We had to do many things during WW2 to make ourselves look decent and to make it look as though we had plenty of clothes.

The following pictures are examples of joining rosettes for a yoke and a neck decoration.

In the photo below you will see how crochet has been set to brighten up a dull jumper to give it a new lease of life.
It has to be remembered that these patterns are sixty years old.
